A LITTLE BIT ABOUT ME

A marriage and family therapist for over 25 years, I find deep gratification in guiding clients through life’s unplanned obstacles, even the most difficult ones. My own ongoing soul searching allows me to provide deep empathy and understanding, thereby enhancing the rich possibilities for change offered up in a therapy experience — a proven way to move forward in service of your betterment and enlivened potential.

Being a gay biracial cisgender man, I know first-hand what it is like to feel different, misunderstood, and marginalized. Early on this created a strong desire in me towards understanding my own feelings, thoughts and unexpressed needs through my own inner work and therapy process. I especially appreciate and acknowledge possible contributive influences related to cultural backgrounds, family dynamics, sexuality, gender and other life experiences that describe who you are. With this in mind and heart, my approach appreciates looking inward as a most worthwhile healing pathway, along with putting into practice the skill-building benefits of strength-based avenues and tools to assist in your particular journey.

In addition to my private practice, I am also an adjunct professor at Antioch University Los Angeles in their Masters Program in Clinical Psychology. For over 15 years, I have taught in their general course of study and also in the LGBT Specialization track, providing students a one-of-a-kind of powerful instruction in the theory and practice of LGBTQ+ affirmative psychotherapy.
