All the integral and intersectional components
of who you are will not be left at the door and

A SAFE HAVEN FOR GROWTH AND HEALING
For too many, these are difficult times that come with added stressors and effects on daily functioning, on one’s overall outlook on life, and for many, on actual safety. In addition to others, this is being experienced by members of the LGBTQ+ community, BIPOC individuals, and other marginalized groups — all of whom deserve support that caringly addresses such concerns. As needed, I am here to include this as part of the therapy experience.
I honor your rich identity components when this might come into play along with all the other important and relevant reasons you have for coming into therapy. With my many years of experience, my expertise can assist you in areas such as:
LGBTQ+ and BIPOC Challenges and Gifts
- If you are an LGBTQ+ individual and/or a person of color coming to me for therapy, I hold a firm belief in your exceptional and unquestioned value rooted in your particular and unique identity — that you are worthy of feeling good about yourself, worthy of being successful and productive in all your life’s endeavors, and that you are worthy of experiencing loving relationships with yourself and with others.
Relationships
- You might be struggling to create and maintain healthy romantic, or other interpersonal relationships including with family, friends, at school or at work. This can come with communication and trust issues, isolation, difficulties navigating the dating scene, or insecurity due to body image and other trauma-based experiences.
Life Stages and Transitions
- You might also be discovering that aging comes with its own distressing obstacles related to health, retirement, feeling lonely or the alienating invisibility you might go through in a youth-oriented culture. Or you might be at other stages in adult life that come with questions and insecurities on how to effectively and confidently move forward.
Skills and Tools
- To further support you in these and other needs, I will help you develop the skills and tools to strengthen healthy attitudes and beliefs about yourself to better navigate a complex world, along with a greater balance of independence and healthy dependence and need for others.
I will always come to you with an inviting and care-filled effort to assist you in having deeper self-appreciation, in having greater respect and curiosity in the relationship you have with yourself, and to discover the invigorating effect this might have on the relationship you have with others, with work, with play, and in other aspects of your rich and varied life.
